Heart & Bass

MUSIC YOU MOVE THROUGH.

Bass, breath, rhythm and words, made to pull you out of your head and back into your body.

You don't have to understand everything you're carrying. Sometimes the body just needs somewhere for it to go.

Music

DIFFERENT SOUNDS.
SAME INVITATION.

Some songs ground you. Some give you somewhere to breathe. Some simply make you want to move.

Body Notes

THINGS YOU MAY HAVE FELT,
BUT NEVER NAMED.

Small observations about what happens in a body: tension, tiredness, movement, breath, restlessness, relief, and some of the very ordinary reasons behind it.

What Heart & Bass Is About

WHAT HEART
& BASS IS ABOUT.

There's a kind of tired that sleep doesn't touch.

You got everything done today. You answered, organised, solved, showed up. And somewhere in it you stopped noticing the jaw you'd been clenching since ten in the morning, or the way your shoulders climb when a certain name appears on your screen.

You know the feeling. You've just never had much reason to name it.

That's the starting point here.

What this actually is

Heart & Bass is mine: music, bass, breath and movement, used as a way back into your own body.

Not therapy. Not a fitness class. Not another thing to be good at.

I make songs you can move through, short body notes about what tiredness and tension are actually doing, and sessions I'm building now — Heartbeats is where I'll announce the first one.

Why music

Because a bassline gets in underneath the part of your brain that's constantly explaining things to itself. Rhythm belonged to bodies long before it belonged to playlists — to work, to grief, to celebration, to prayer. Your body tends to recognise something before your mind catches up. I use music as a door, not as decoration.

What I won't do

I won't try to make you cry, or shake, or have a breakthrough. Bodies have their own timing. Some days yours wants the whole room; some days it wants to sit down. If the only thing that shifts is that your breath reaches a little lower than it did five minutes ago, that counts. There's no correct way to arrive here and no correct way to feel.

What I'm actually after

Not a better version of you. Not healing, done well.

Just this: can you feel yourself while your life is happening?

Can you catch the tiredness before you hit the wall? Notice a boundary forming before resentment has to speak for you? Let pleasure and anger and grief and softness all belong to the same person?

That's it. Not perfection. Relationship.

Come back to where you are

You don't need the right words or the right body. Put the headphones on, or read one body note and see what lands.

Start wherever you are.

Founder

HI, I'M
DEANA.

Deana, the founder of Heart & Bass
Deana · Freiburg

I was born in Trinidad & Tobago, spent time in Toronto, and now call Germany home, with Indian and German roots running through me long before any of those places did. Moving between all of it, I started noticing how differently people carry rhythm, expression, rest and their own bodies: how much of that comes from where you're from, and how much of it can get lost along the way.

Before any of this, my world was systems: programming, then years of logistics, keeping a hundred moving pieces flowing at once. That work asked for precision, but also perspective. You have to see the whole board, not only the piece in front of you. It also taught me, from the inside, how easy it is to live almost entirely in your head.

Music has always been one of the ways I understand things that are hard to put into words. It brings energy back on the days I need it. It makes room for something slower on the days I don't. A bassline can say more than a paragraph ever could.

Heart & Bass grew out of both of those worlds: the music, and the years spent paying closer attention to what happens underneath everyday life.

I'm not here presenting myself as someone who has it all figured out. I'm still learning too.

What I bring is curiosity, lived experience, a real respect for the body's own timing, and a wish to build something that feels honest, warm and unforced.

My roots, the places I've lived, the systems I've worked inside, the music, the movement, the reflection, the doubt, the creativity and the times I've had to begin again. All of it lives inside Heart & Bass now.

It's the place where the things I care about most finally get to belong together.

I'm glad you found your way here.

And if you're curious what working together could look like, I'd love to hear from you. Let's find a time.

— Deana
